Guided by outstanding leadership, step into a role where you can help further shape and define all aspects of Humans Resources at Create NYC.  We are looking for a motivated, energetic, self-starter who can manage core HR responsibilities while also developing strategic initiatives to support our people and culture.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Ability to create, influence, and execute HR initiatives
  • Manages foundational human resource programs including talent planning, staffing processes, compensation, health benefits and other benefits, training and development, records management, and employee relations and retention
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares studies to help establish compensation bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff
  • Assists with the enhancement of an in-house employee training program that addresses the agency's training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding to proficiency, and management development
  • Leads planning and execution of key annual agency-side initiatives and events including committees, awards, and off-sites that facilitate overall agency performance, retention, and health
  •  Proactively researches industry practice to benchmark agency norms and innovation including hiring, compensation, and training among others to foster high employee engagement and staff retention

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages agency recruitment process using standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to efficiently hire as openings become available
  • Supports agency managers with employee relations counseling and exit interviews
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
  • Performs benefits administration including all staff communication and coordination
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook

Required Competencies

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping. HRIS reporting and analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organi zational skills

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • SHRM Certification
  • 5-10 years of human resources generalist experience; agency healthcare experience a plus
  • Additional consideration given to candidates with >2 years in healthcare advertising

Preferred:

  • Human Resources or related degree
